IGC Türkiye welcomes the Jeotermal Enerji Derneği (Geothermal Energy Association “JED”) as the “Cooperation Partner” to the 5th IGC Turkey Geothermal Congress & Exhibition to take place 19-21 September 2022 in Izmir, Turkey!
JED was established in July 2020 with the gathering of 10 industry-leading founding members involved in the exploration of Turkey's geothermal potential.
The aim of JED is to work with all sector stakeholders, including the public, private sector and NGOs, so that geothermal energy contributes to the country's economy to ensure that Türkiye has an important place in the energy supply in a wide range without being limited to electricity generation, by explaining to large masses that geothermal is a domestic, clean and national resource.
The establishment of strategic plans for the sustainable use of geothermal resources, the activation of legal processes, the development of environmental and social policies and the optimal management of the country's geothermal potential are among the activity objectives of the association.
At the point reached today, JED, which has 14 members and two-thirds of the geothermal energy investments in Turkey belong to its members, has also determined its ethical principles and working principles with the "Ethical Rules Agreement". The basic principles of the association are determined as bringing together the sector stakeholders in line with the common goal, strengthening stakeholder relations, continuing scientific and academic studies together, and expanding the usage areas of geothermal with the commitment of its members. The association actively carries out all its activities and works with a corporate understanding of the association.
The IGC Turkey 2022 event is organized by Enerchange and Jeotermal Haberler its features workshops, a trade show exhibition and a congress that will discuss the showcase geothermal projects worldwide, country updates and funding schemes, economy of scale and cost reduction potentials, developing and innovative studies, geothermal potential and opportunities for oil & gas fields and explore prospects for the development of heat and electricity producing plants.
For this year’s IGC Türkiye 2022, we expect more than 200 high-level delegates to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the market.
